The decision to marry is one of the most important decisions we make in life, so we want to make sure we have done everything possible to create a great marriage from the very beginning. Great marriages don’t happen by accident, they take work and effort and a key component is preparation. The average couple will invest $20,000 to $25,000 on their wedding day, so it makes sense to invest time and energy into creating a strong and fulfilling marriage.

Studies have shown that couples who complete a marriage preparation program are 30% less likely to divorce, report significantly higher levels of commitment and fulfillment, and have an easier time adjusting to marriage than those who don’t.

Premarital training can make a big difference!

The Edge of Commitment premarital seminar is not a screening process to tell you if you should or should not get married. It is taught by a Marriage and Family Therapist and it is designed to help you to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your relationship.  Edge is open to all who are engaged, seriously dating, or who are newly married; and will give you practical tools to help you build a successful marriage.

The group meets at Central’s Henderson Campus every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm in Room 227 beginning February 8th   and will continue for 9 weeks.  The cost for the seminar is $135 per couple.  To register and reserve your spot, click here.

I’d really like to do this with my boyfriend but Wed nights are the only nights I can not. Will this be offered any other time?

    • Hi Mindy! Currently, Wednesday evenings are the only time that we offer Edge. The other options would be to plan a one-on-one counseling sessions or we may have future Edge’s that may be on another day. I do apologize and please let me know if you would like to consider the one-on-one option.

    Will there be childcare available?
