It’s crazy that we are in 2012, but here we are. This year with resolutions and everyone gearing up for the future, I’m remembering what a counselor told me in a very important appointment. He listened to me talk about my life and history and asked question after question.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN: Central Couple’s newest and most exciting event: THE BIG NIGHT OUT! At the BIG NIGHT OUT, you and your spouse will enjoy a great evening of getting to know each other and connecting with other couples in a whole new way. Join Central Couples, as we welcome special musical guest, ULTRA SOUND (formerly the guys from MOSAIC) as we pull out all the stops for an incredible DATE NIGHT of phenomenal music, loads of laughs, prizes, snack foods and a practical application for couples.

There is no cost for this event and free childcare is provided. So mark your calendars and save the date for Sunday, September 11 at either 4:30pm or 6:30pm in theTheatre at our Henderson Campus. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Central Couples has just confirmed that ULTRA SOUND (formerly the guys from MOSAIC) will be performing at our upcoming BIG NIGHT OUT! If you loved them as MOSAIC, you are going to really love them as ULTRA SOUND! Registration for this event will open this Monday, August 15th. You can register online ! Small Group Leaders: Are you leading a Small Group? Do you have an Apprentice? Would you like to lead a Small Group? All Senior Leaders, Small Group Leaders, Apprentice’s, and potential leaders are invited to this fall’s ReGROUP LEADERSHIP GATHERING! Leaders will be encouraged and challenged on why we do what we do. You will not want to miss this important fun-filled event as we discuss leadership in the trenches and look ahead at what God is doing in the Central Small Group ministry. We will also be giving important details about this fall’s Church-Wide Campaign: TORN. Look forward to seeing you there!

Summer Ideas for Small Groups

Summer vacation is almost half way gone! For many people, summer has been a time for camps, sports, vacations, and just being out of our normal routines. With the many activities, we sometimes miss out on some amazing opportunities to do community with our Small Groups. Don’t miss out on what could be the best summer yet for you and your Small Group! Here are a few ideas that can make all the difference for an AWESOME SUMMER:

Meet at the Park a couple of times this summer. This allows your Small Group to get out of their normal routine and allows you to have some fun! It doesn’t have to be elaborate and you can meet at your normal time and ask everyone to bring some food and do your study. Another addition to add to the fun is to pick a park that has a water feature and a large play area. The kids will love the water and the adults can get together for a game of kick-ball! Have fun!
Have a BBQ at someone’s house. Instead of having the BBQ in the backyard, move it to the front yard and invite the neighbors to join in. This would be an amazing way to invest in your 1Life.
Take a Hike! Yes, we live within driving distance to some of the best hiking opportunities around. Plan a day where you and your Small Group can go together. Don’t forget, take plenty of water! You may also choose to make it a camp-out!
Plan a Guy’s/Gal’s Night Out. This is a great way to build relationships. You can plan a game night, bowling, golf outing, or maybe attend a sporting event together. Be creative and enjoy the company of your Small Group members.
Serve together! There are several opportunities where you and your Small Group can serve together in the community or at Central. You can call our Care Department for some ideas on where you can serve. It amazes me how close a Small Group gets just by serving together.
Dive-in-Movie! Find someone in your Small Group that has a pool at their home or in their community. Get a projector and set up a movie screen or just a white sheet and watch your favorite movie.

Whatever you do, spend the rest of this summer making some great memories that will last a lifetime! Also, share some of your ideas that your Small Group has done to make the summer time a little more fun!

Building a Great Marriage

Building a Great Marriage is a Couple’s On Campus Small Group that is designed much like First Step and the BIG 6. It will be a great place to invest in your relationship and meet other couples who are on the journey. This four week On Campus Group will launch Saturday, May 14 at 4:30-5:45 pm in Room #203.

Central Couple’s has invited Mark Whelchel, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to facilitate this group. Some of the topics that will be discussed will be Communication, Conflict Resolution, Finances, and more. This is a group you do not want to miss!
